Skyward Family Access - Renton High School (2024)

Skyward Family Access is an easy and useful online tool that provides families with access to their student's information and more. With the Family Access web portal, you can review your child’s progress with just a “point and click” from your home or office. Your Family Access password and user name will work for all children currently enrolled in Renton School District who live in your household, regardless of grade level or school.

If you have forgotten your password, please use the "Forgot Password" option and you will get a reset link at your email on file, or contact your school for assistance.

With Family Access, you can view:

  • bus route & stop information
  • food service info
    (benefits, purchases, etc.)
  • grades & missing assignments
  • class schedules
  • attendance
  • health & immunization information
  • emergency contact information

If you do not have a login ID for Family Access, please contact your student's school.

First Time Login

When logging in for the first time, use the Login ID provided to you by your student’s school and click “Forgot your Login/Password” to create your password. Once you have successfully logged in, a page asking for your email address will pop up. Click the blue hyperlink that says “Account” to enter an email address. This will allow you to retrieve your password should you forget it in the future and also makes your email address available to your student’s teachers.

If you have more than one student in the Renton School District, click the arrow next to All Students (located directly under the Family Access header). You may choose between your students here. *If one of your students is missing from the drop down list, please contact the office ofthat student’s school.

Once Logged In

You will see the Home screen which has a navigation bar on the left-side of the screen. A brief description of what each section provides is below:

  • ELEMENTARY ACCESS
  • SECONDARY ACCESS

ELEMENTARY ACCESS

  1. Home – return to main screen with school or teacher messages and announcements.

2.Calendar – school and classroom events by month and day.

3.Attendance – absences and tardies for each school day.

4.Student Info – general information about student such as age, grade, address, student number, and their school photo.

5.Busing – bus route information (when available).

6.Food Service – lunch menu, free and reduced lunch application, student account balances, and purchases.

7.Schedule – student’s daily schedule.

8.Test Scores – school and state test scores such as BAS, SBA, SAT entered by district.

9.Educational Milestones – specific graduation requirements met so far for students in grades 8 – 12.

10. Portfolio/Report Cards – copies of state testing scores that have been sent home, and of report cards themselves (this is different from Middle and High School report cards which can be found in Academic History).

11.Login History – list of dates and times Family Access account has been used.

12.My Account - current contact information and contact preferences as entered by student’s school and can only be changed at student’s school.

SECONDARY ACCESS

  1. Home – return to main screen with school or teacher messages and announcements.

  3. Gradebook – current grades for all student’s classes entered by teacher.
  4. Attendance – absences and tardies for each school day.
  5. Student Info – general information about student such as age, grade, address, student number, and their school photo.

  • STEP 1: Get Your Skyward Login and Password. If you already know your Login and Password, go to STEP 2.
  • STEP 2: Download the Free Skyward Mobile Access App

STEP 1: Get Your Skyward Login and Password. If you already know your Login and Password, go to STEP 2.

To get your username and reset your password, click on the “Forgot Your Login/Password” link on the Skyward login page http://family.renton.wa-k12.net. Enter your email address on file at the school when prompted. You will receive a password reset email.

STEP 2: Download the Free Skyward Mobile Access App

Search for Skyward Mobile Access in theApp StoreorGoogle Playto download it for free and access many of Skyward's key features from your smartphone or tablet.

STEP 3: Log in to Your Skyward Mobile Access Account for the First Time

  1. Once the app is open, select “By District Name.”
  2. Type “Renton” in the search bar and select “RentonSchool District” when it appears.
  3. Select “School and Business Management.”
  4. Enter your Skyward login and password. Reset your password or contact your schoolif you need your login information.
  5. Choose a four-digit passcode. You will need this each time you log in.
  6. Select the top option for mobile.

Next time your login, select the Skyward app on your phone and enter your 4 digit passcode.

Annual Family Information Update

On a yearly basis, families are asked to update important information about students. Login to your familyaccount and click on the "Annual Update" tabto update your information in skyward. This will allow you to update:

  • Contact Info
  • Emergency Contacts
  • Address

You can also:

  • Upload a new proof of address
  • Submit an annual free & reduced lunchapplication.
  • Verify any missing information

There will be a series of steps in order to complete your Annual Update. After the steps are completed, all changes will be sent to the schoolfor processing. You will receive an email when thechangeshavebeen approved by your students school.

What if my information is incorrect?

Contact information can be updated through Skyward Family Access. You will receive an email once the changeshavebeen approved by your students school. For any information you are not able to update please contact your students school for corrections.

What if I forgot my login?

Students: Your login is the beginning part of your email address before the @ symbol.

Families: Please contact your student's school to receiveyour login credentials and gainaccess.

What if I forgot my password?

If you forget your password, please click on the ‘Forgot Login/Password’ link on the Skyward Family Access home page. If you did not enter an email address, you will need to go, in person, to the school to retrieve your password.

Students: Skyward will send a link to your Outlook email, which you can access through the RSD Login Portal.

Families: Skyward will send a link to your email address on record.

Should I let my student use my account to see their information?

Students have their own access via Skyward Student Access. They are able to access the Student Portal from the district’s RSD Login Portal.

Q: What do I do if my login isn't working? A: Get in touch with your internal Skyward support team. They'll be able to reset your password or provide you with updated credentials as needed. Skyward does not have access to your password or account information.
